Classen's Watching Jim Crow:The Struggles Over Mississippi TV, 1955-1969, there is a lot of discussion about both the representation of African Americans and the lack of African Americans on the television. One would assume that thirty years later there would not be as much of an issue anymore. In this youtube video from MadTV, Chris Rock (played by Phil LaMarr) begs to differ. His music video "No Blacks (On the TV Screen)" says it all.
