This is a link to an interview with two of the stars from BET's, "Baldwin Hills" (couldn't find actual clips as their heavily copyrighted), their reaction to MTV's, "The hills", a popular and heavily white dominated reality TV show. The hills deals with the trials and tribulations of growing up in beverly hills with lots of money. BET's reaction literally takes the Hills and moves it across town into Inglewood area of LA, and uses middle class, black high-schoolers. With shows like Baldwin Hills, and Half & Half, where writers literally take the formula for "white" TV shows and fill them in with black characters and having them act stereotypically "black". This begs the question, have we really gotten that far from black face minstrelsy?
