Last year I got the chance to check out the New York Historical Society's exhibit on slavery in New York. I thought it was really interesting and I learned so much more about slavery than was ever taught to me in a high school or college classroom. Thanks for your post Lauran. I had a chance to see this exhibit too, and I also learned a lot. There is a still a lot of work to be done on the history of slavery outside of the South, and this exhibit was a great contribution.
