I saw The Roots perform for the first time at the House of Blues in New Orleans last weekend. They played for almost three hours and did not disappoint. One of the best parts of the show was when they ran through a medley of old/new hip-hop hits. And while all of the band is great (especially ?uestlove on drums), I really liked Tuba Gooding Jr. on the sousaphone (seriously!). I can't claim to be the biggest Roots fan, but they are definitely one of the most musically talented and smartest groups of the last 15+ years.

Watch the video for the new song "75 Bars (Black's Reconstruction)" and, for old time's sake, "You Got Me."
